Ski Touring Paradise Zillertal

Ski Touring

venture off the beaten tracks...

Discover the back country of the Austrian Alps on your skis. Experts of alpine back country skiing can look forward to spectacular ascents and endless views from the white summits of the valley. For all guests that want to try ski touring for the first time we are happy to put you in contact with a certified local ski guide.

We do a lot of ski touring ourselves and are always happy to share our adventures, local tips and routes with you!

To find the best summits off the beaten tracks, you can for example ask our waiter Christian, who knows our mountains like the inside of his pockets 😉 .

Important tips for beginners

  • For beginner alpinists without experience it is recommended to take a ski guide!
  • Make sure to properly plan your route of ascent and descent before
  • Inform yourself about the weather forecast and, more importantly, the avalanche forecast!
  • Be careful, you don’t always have mobile connection in the mountains! The number of the Austrian mountain rescue is 140.
  • Be sure to know your limits. Especially in spring you have to start really early in the mornings.
  • Show respect to nature and local rules.
  • Be sure to take with you all the necessary equipment (gps, localisation device, snow showel, a probe, helmet etc.) and know how to use it in case of emergency.

Guided tours for beginners

For your first tours we absolutely recommend taking a guide, the easiest is to book with our partner Mountain-Sports Zillertal. They know the best local routes and are happy to explain and teach you everything. Feel free to ask our reception for a contact.
